ProdActive was invited by Nantong Haimen Government to attend the recent event called “Briefings of 2020 Investment Environment of Haimen (Shanghai)” that was held in Shanghai JW Marriott Marquis hotel last Monday, August 31st.
During the event, an in-depth video was presented to describe Haimen from all essential aspects. Shanghai’s 3rd airport, the Nantong Airport, has been officially announced to be built only 10km far from Haimen. Together with the High-speed Railway, the port, the express road network, the strategic geographic location, the lower cost resources (labour, real estate etc) compared to Shanghai, the reduced government bureaucracy for a business establishment, the excellent financial services, they create the potentiality to turn Haimen into a modern, medium-sized city, suitable for living and working.
The audience had the chance to watch the on-site signing of 17 projects, involving emerging industries such as medical precision machinery, innovative technology and new materials, and robotics R&D, with a total investment of nearly 30 billion yuan. And as Mr Chen Yong, the secretary of Haimen District Party Committee, stated in his speech, he will strive to cultivate another three hundred billion level and one 50 billion level industrial clusters withing 3-5 years and build a modern industrial system with international competitiveness.
